Services

The Wilson County Health Department provides a variety of basic health services to prevent and treat illnesses. Most services are by appointment. Based on need and provider availability, work-ins may be accepted. Please call ahead (615-444-5325) to determine your eligibility.

The Health Department serves as a “safety net” for the uninsured, providing a sliding-scale fee based on income. We also act as the primary care provider for assigned TennCare patients. Please call for further information.

Children's Services

  • Well-child check-ups, including physical exams and screening tests
  • Immunizations
  • WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Nutrition Program
  • Children’s Special Services (CSS)
  • CHANT Home Visitation Program
  • Dental care

Adult Services

  • Primary Care, including minor illnesses, physicals, pap smears, colorectal, and other tests to screen for cancer
  • Tuberculosis diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
  • Immunizations against influenza (flu), pneumonia, and tetanus boosters
  • Confidential diagnosis, treatment, and counseling for Sexually Transmitted Diseases, including HIV/AIDS
  • WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Nutrition Program
  • Family Planning

Other Services

  • Vital Records: Birth and Death Certificates
  • Health Education: Provides health-related educational programs in the community
  • Environmental Health Services: Inspection of foodservice establishments, hotels, public swimming pools, bed and breakfast establishments, campgrounds, tattoo and body piercing studios, childcare facilities, and schools
  • Emergency Preparedness: Serves as a community partner in the protection against the onset of epidemics and other possible bio-hazard events

Covid-19 Vaccinations

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 10:30am.

Must use the state website to schedule all appointments https://covid19.tn.gov/covid-19-vaccines/availability/

On scheduled day and time, pull into a parking spot, and call the health department at (615) 444-5325 and let the staff know you are here for your appointment.

A nurse will then go out to your vehicle, have you fill out the paperwork, answer any questions, then administer the vaccine.

Covid-19 PCR Testing

Wednesdays from 9:00am to 11:00am.

No appointment needed.

Drive in, pull into a parking spot, call the health department at (615) 444-5325 and let the staff know you are here for testing.

A nurse will then go out to your vehicle, have you fill out the paperwork, answer any questions, then administer the test.

Self-Test Kits

Self-test kits (Binax Now and Everlywell) given from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Self-test kits are free, limit of 2 per individual.
