The State of Tennessee, Department of Health, working at the Wilson County Health Department is seeking a physician that is interested in serving in a capacity of working Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 1 hour lunch, and off (and paid) for all the state holidays. The only individuals this physician would be responsible for would be the APRN that works there, and also precept a few others in another counties. There will be days allotted for chart reviews, and this is an Executive state position.

Here are some of the duties:

• Diagnose, treat, and manage chronic and acute diseases in adults and children using evidence-based medicine approaches in an outpatient setting.
• Consult with other health department staff.
• Precept advanced practice nurses in multiple sites, to include chart review, clinical mentoring, and consultation.
• Participate in county and region-based activities as requested by county and regional supervisors.
• Follow health department guidelines, protocols, and program recommendations.
• Follow professional development directives from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners, including having and maintaining a valid unrestricted medical license.
