Convenience centers are open daily from 7:00AM-4:30PM.
Rules & Regulations
Wilson County Residents Only (Must have a Wilson County vehicle tag)
- NO Box Trucks or U-Haul’s
- NO Enclosed Trailers
- NO Partial Loads
- NO Commercial Loads
- NO Scavenging
- One Visit Per Day
Allowed items:
10 Bags of Household Garbage
And One of the Following:
2 Pieces of Furniture (couch & chair)
OR
2 Appliances
OR
One 8x10 Piece of Carpet or Rug
OR
5 Pieces of Lumber (flooring included)
OR
20 Shingles
OR
2 Boxes of Miscellaneous Items in Open Top Dumpster
OR
5 Pieces of Metal/Tin
Unacceptable Items:
- Tires/Automotive parts
- Paint
- Hazardous waste
- Yard waste/limbs/grass
- Fireworks
You may be instructed to carry your load to the Landfill. Review the Landfill's hours of operations and fees on the Landfill / Solid Waste page.
Recycle
You are encouraged to recycle the following items/materials at all convenience centers:
- Cardboard
- Aluminum
- Tin
- Metal
- Refrigerators/Freezers
- Batteries
- Plastic Milk Jugs
- Soda Bottles
- Carpet Padding
- Jugs and Bottles - must be loose and removed from trash bags
- Plastic recycling is for milk jugs and soda bottles (types 1 and 2) - they must be loose and removed from trash bags - we do not recycle all plastic
E-Waste
Wilson County Landfill recycles E-Waste, (computers, printers, televisions, microwaves, etc.) and metal.
