The Wilson County Trustee collects real property, tangible personal property, and ad valorem taxes from the general public.

Tax Payments

Tax notices are mailed in mid-October to the property address. The tax year is a calendar year beginning January 1 through December 31. Taxes can be paid without interest from mid-October through the last day of February of the following year.

You can pay taxes in a number of ways:

  • Mail - please include the top portion of your notice to guarantee proper recording of payment or write the tax bill number on your check.

  • In-Person - at the office of the Trustee:

  • Online through the Tennessee Payments Portal - Visa, Mastercard, Discover, debit cards and e-checks - Credit cards incur a 2.50% fee and e-checks $1.00 per transaction.  Effective Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, the ACH transaction fee will change from $1.00 to $1.25 per transaction. 
  • Over the Phone - Visa, Mastercard, Discover, debit cards and e-checks - Credit cards incur a 2.50% fee and e-checks $1.00 per transaction plus $0.30. 
  • Please call 1-888-382-8422 to make a payment over the phone. 

Please note the processing fee is paid to the credit card processing companies and is not charged by the Trustee.

All Wilson County locations of Wilson Bank & Trust and Pinnacle Bank beginning October 2025. Taxpayers must bring their tax bill to process payment at bank locations. NO PARTIAL PAYMENTS accepted at bank locations.

Change of Address

For changing your address where Tax Bills are sent, please fill out the Change of Address Form (PDF) or call the Wilson County Property Assessor's Office at 615-444-8661.

Tax Relief & Tax Freeze Program

The Wilson County Trustee's Office offers a state and county-funded program to help taxpayers pay their property taxes. The Tax Relief Program helps taxpayers 65 or older, disabled citizens and total & permanent disabled veterans.

The Tax Freeze Program helps seniors (65 and older) by freezing the tax amount on their primary residence. For additional information, download the Tax Relief - Tax Freeze Brochure (PDF).
